		<description>As you read last week, my fellow blogger Elisah Jacobs of InteriorJunkie.com and I have joined forces to share our visual inspiration and interior design ideas with each other's audiences. And let me tell you, Elisah discoverd SO much cool stuff last week that I probably wouldn't have found myself So, here we go!

PS: Don't forget to check out the Interiorator Facebook page - it skyrocketed to almost 400 followers this weekend!

&#60;img src="http://payload166.cargocollective.com/1/3/126508/5638658/922902_601025279915836_28491160_n.jpg" width="560" height="560" width_o="560" height_o="560" src_o="http://payload166.cargocollective.com/1/3/126508/5638658/922902_601025279915836_28491160_n_o.jpg" data-mid="30431121"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

Like me, Elisah recently embarked on a grand project. For me, it's the infamous Interiorator hallway makeover (we've made a lot of progress by the way). Elisah has upped the ante by planning a new rooftop terrace. She's collecting been images with terraces she likes and as you can see, Elisah is definitely on the right track!

&#60;img src="http://payload166.cargocollective.com/1/3/126508/5638658/944518_601020616582969_1734661043_n.jpg" width="560" height="840" width_o="560" height_o="840" src_o="http://payload166.cargocollective.com/1/3/126508/5638658/944518_601020616582969_1734661043_n_o.jpg" data-mid="30431126"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

Then there's our shared love of kitsch (well, in moderation). I almost laughed out loud when I saw this outrageous golden bathtub. Now where's the matching golden shower?

&#60;img src="http://payload166.cargocollective.com/1/3/126508/5638658/huis31-e1368629678583.jpg" width="560" height="795" width_o="560" height_o="795" src_o="http://payload166.cargocollective.com/1/3/126508/5638658/huis31-e1368629678583_o.jpg" data-mid="30431138"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;&#60;img src="http://payload166.cargocollective.com/1/3/126508/5638658/Schermafbeelding-2013-05-15-om-4.50.48-PM.png" width="560" height="785" width_o="560" height_o="785" src_o="http://payload166.cargocollective.com/1/3/126508/5638658/Schermafbeelding-2013-05-15-om-4.50.48-PM_o.png" data-mid="30431146"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
Two pictures from the Laid Back Surf Shack in Montauk that I saw on Interior Junkie. Fun, fun, fun!

&#60;img src="http://payload166.cargocollective.com/1/3/126508/5638658/vrijdag121.jpg" width="560" height="560" width_o="560" height_o="560" src_o="http://payload166.cargocollective.com/1/3/126508/5638658/vrijdag121_o.jpg" data-mid="30431152"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
And finally a great find on Etsy...check out these ombre wooden spoons. Good catch, Elisah!

		<description>As I'm sitting here on the train back from Groningen to Rotterdam, I'm still amazed at all the cool stuff I saw yesterday at Verroest. Owner Sander Drent opened his shop two months ago and he is already making waves. As you can see, he sells a unique selection of French industrial antiques, theater lights, unique porcelain and an old Donkey Kong arcade machine. I was greeted by Sander's father - what a nice and interesting man with some many great stories to tell about the city of Groningen. But more about Mr. Drent senior later this week. It's great to see that retail still has a future with shops like Verroest that offer an atmosphere and experience that online shopping just can't match.

If you're in the area, be sure to drop by. Verroest (which means 'rusted' by the way) is on the Kleine Peperstraat 8a. Don't have the time to travel all the way up to Groningen? Then check out the excellent www.verroest.nl webshop.

		<description>Boucherouites from Morocco are so last week! This Thursday, I was invited to the press preview of the special Tunisian edition of the All in One Carpet by Droog. The All in One Carpet Gafsa Region was made by four artisans from Gafsa, one of Tunisia's most ancient but least developed parts of the country.

&#60;img src="http://payload166.cargocollective.com/1/3/126508/5638503/Hotel Droog 00.jpg" width="560" height="840" width_o="560" height_o="840" src_o="http://payload166.cargocollective.com/1/3/126508/5638503/Hotel Droog 00_o.jpg" data-mid="30429856"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

What makes this series of carpets extra special, is that they form a conversation between the artisans who designed them. If you look closely at the photo's I took, you can see that the pattern of each carpet connects to the next one. Very cool concept and nice to see that a 15,000 year-old Tunisian tradition can still be contemporary.

Want to know more? Go to www.capsacarpet.com. And of course you can see this carpet at Hotel Droog, Staalstraat 7b in Amsterdam.

Have a great Saturday - I'm on my way to the city of Groningen in the north of the Netherlands for a weekend getaway. The first blogpost about this cool city should be online tomorrow morning.

PS: Did you know that Interiorator also has a Facebook page with exclusive content?

		<description>A rainy night in Amsterdam. I was invited for the preview of the new Gafsa carpets at Hotel Droog (more about that tomorrow) and had some time left after the presentation. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that Droog had expanded their store and that I was one of the first people to see it. The store manager gave me some time to take a few pictures - pure bliss to have such a beautiful space all to yourself!

Have a great Friday everyone!

		<description>VIva Frida! And viva this fun new pattern by Alexander Henry Fabrics. This fabric is an ode to Frida Kahlo, Mexico's most iconic painter and proud owner of the biggest furriest unibrow in art history. Don't you agree that Viva Frida would make a great curtain or cushion? Especially the black version is muy, muy dramática.

Enjoy your day and don't forget to visit the Interiorator Facebook page for an update on the infamous hallway makeover project!

		<description>So, what happens when you ask a crazy-ass and totally brilliant director like David Lynch to design a set of plates? You get The Boundless Sea - a story told in ceramics. French manufacturer Bernardaud have been in business for 150 years and to celebrate this occasion, they asked eleven renowned artists to each a series of commemorative plates.

I was immediately drawn to Lynch's series - his design is so totally unusual and original that it should be inspiration for all the designers, stylists and other creatives that read this blog.

I've put all the Boundless Sea plates in the ginormous collage you see below - hope you enjoy it!

Have a great hump day,

Patrick

		<description>It is the Interiorator trifecta of perfection: interior design, bold patterns and American Studies (which by the way, is my original background). The excellent Adelphi Paper Hangings draft antique wallpaper designs from the 18th, 19th and 20th century directly from the archives of The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Historic New England or the Smithsonian Institution. In most cases, this envolves piecing together fragmented, faded, and damaged patterns and restoring them to their former glory. The results, as you can see, are stunning and provide a fascinating look into the history of wallpaper design.

I've included pictures of my favorite patterns, but if you go to www.adelphipaperhangings.com, you'll find many, many more great wallpapers to choose from.

PS: I just found out that there are only two companies in Europe that sell Adelphi. One of them is De Mooiste Muren the Dutch town of Haarlem. Definitely worth checking out, they have a great selection of my favorite brand and their store looks great.

Have a great Tuesday and don't forget to follow Interiorator on Facebook if you aren't doing so already! You'll get all the latest news and some exclusive extra's!

It's a small world after all! Blogger Elisah Jacobs of Interior Junkie and I used to write for a previous incarnation of the blogpage on deBijenkorf.nl. And now our paths cross again! You see, Elisah has switched from blogging about fashion to blogging about interior design and needless to say her brand spankin' new Interior Junkie blog - God I love that name, by the way - looks fab. Starting today, we will work together on a weekly basis by writing about each other's blog - or even on each other's blog. I'm not exactly sure where our collaboration will take us, but I'm sure it's going to be some place great!

I have included some of my favorite images from InteriorJunkie.com and from the Interior Junkie Facebook page - hope you like them as much as I do.

Enjoy your week - Patrick

PS: And a tip for non-Dutch speaking readers: you can run Elisah's blog through Google Translate. Or you can just enjoy the pictures!
